- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons pan drippings from cooked steak (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add sliced mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, then sprinkle in flour.
- Slowly pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, whisking to combine.
- Bring to a simmer and let thicken, stirring in remaining butter.
- Garnish with parsley and serve over cooked steak.
Notes
For a perfect sear, use a cast-iron skillet.
Experiment with different mushroom varieties for enhanced flavors.
Make the sauce in advance and reheat for convenience.
