- 2½ to 3 pounds of baby back ribs
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2½ teaspoons fresh cracked black pepper
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ cup barbecue sauce, your favorite brand
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Mix together the spice rub ingredients.
- Prepare the ribs by removing the membrane on the underside.
- Place ribs bone side up on aluminum foil and season with spice rub.
- Wrap the ribs securely in foil and bake for about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- Mix barbecue sauce with light brown sugar.
- Open the foil, coat ribs with barbecue sauce mixture, and broil for 2-3 minutes.
- Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Removing the membrane ensures better flavor absorption.
Try adjusting spices to suit your taste.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
