- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 large Vidalia onions, diced
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Sauté onions in oil and butter over medium heat until golden brown (30-35 minutes).
- Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, seasoned salt, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
- Fold cooled onions into the mixture until well combined.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight, for flavors to meld.
Notes
Use Vidalia onions for the best flavor.
Stir onions frequently to prevent burning.
Chill the dip adequately for the best taste.
