Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds lean ground beef (80/20 ground chuck works best)
- ¾ cup Quaker oats (or any brand)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, crack and mix the eggs.
- Combine the ground beef, oats, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until ingredients are well combined without overworking the meat.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased baking dish.
- Spread ketchup on top for added flavor.
- Bake uncovered for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Using lean ground beef helps achieve the best texture.
Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
Allowing it to rest enhances flavor and moisture.
